The Protection Experiment
This is one of my favourite Kaspersky branded content ideas that’s still in the pipeline.
The plan here is to take over an entire town - ‘Protection’ in Kansas (population 1014) and give half the population Kaspersky-protected devices and the other half unprotected ones.
We then set up a sealed wifi network, turn some ace hackers and phishers loose and see what happens. It’s a controlled experiment which is basically one huge product demo.
In terms of getting it made, there’s been firm interest from a couple of US networks but at the moment the geo-political realities of Russian/US relations make our Russian friends unwilling to ‘take-over’ a town in Kansas and the networks equally unwilling to show it.
